Villarrica National Park

Hi bloggers! In this post I will talk about Villarrica National Park, my favourite place to visit in my free time. This Park it located in the Araucanía región. The park has an area of 63 thousand hectares with extensive forests of araucarias and lenga in the higher parts, and raulí, long-leafed mañío and coigüe in the lower parts. All of these are native species create a woody area where several species of animals that you won’t find anywhere else live. These forest zones are home to a variety of fauna, with species like pumas, grey and red foxes, pudúes, coipos, peucos, quiques, chingues and mountain monkeys, one of the three species of marsupials which exist in Chile. The Villarrica Volcano (2.847msnm) is the area’s number one attraction and infamous as being the most active volcano in South America.
The park has several ways of access. The most beautiful path is Puesco, this is the most Andean area of the park that finally connects with Argentina. The most suitable time of year to visit the park is in summer, I do not recommend that you go in winter as the weather is extreme, even some mountaineers have been lost.
Bless
